A’ja Wilson unanimously named the 2024 WNBA MVP, makes history
The 29-year-old Las Vegas Aces star was at the top of her game all year, making her just the second player in WNBA history to win MVP unanimously. She got all 67 first-place votes, something only Cynthia Cooper achieved in 1997.

Wilson picks up his third MVP title, in addition to a win the award in 2020 and 2022. The 28-year-old has become one of just four players to win the MVP trophy three times — joining WNBA icons Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Lauren Jackson.
A Historic Season for Wilson
By 2024, Wilson was simply smashing baseballs like no one had before and putting up eye-popping numbers. Over 38 games, she averaged 26.9 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 2.58 BPG and 1.79 SPG. She finished first in the league in points and blocks, second in rebounds per game. Wilson also broke the WNBA single-season records for points and rebounds in addition to being the first player in league history to pace the WNBA outright given total figures of points, rebounds and blocks.
Unrivalled Court Performances
Wilson’s season will be remembered for breaking the WNBA single-season points record and becoming the first player to go over 1,000 points in a campaign. The MVP Voting Breakdown
Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier was the runner-up for MVP after getting 66 of the second-place votes and finishing with 467 points. New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart was third (295 points), followed by Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and Connecticut Sun’s Alyssa Thomas.

History books too were written on Wilson’s 2024 season. She also earned her sixth All-Star selection and won her second Olympic gold medal with Team USA.
