He also cautioned that naming anyone as Nakamoto could put their life at risk from extortions and robberies, depending on just how much money they believe Nakamoto controls.
Before the documentary became public, Todd said he planned to get out of town in fear that it might lead to violence.

Nakamoto had also employed British spellings, which Hoback notes are typically used by Todd due to his Canadian background.
Todd laughed his way through those claims during a dramatic confrontation in the documentary. He called it a “creative” but ultimately wrong idea.
