Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a multi-day trip to the United States, during which he has been playing up the shared cultural legacy between India and America but also honing in on technology and strategic partnerships. Modi had addressed a large Indian-American audience on Long Island during his visit, met tech leaders and engaged in bilateral and diplomatic meetings with President Joe Biden and global leaders as well.

Modi at Long Island: Commemorating Cultural Bonds

Modi on Sunday addressed thousands of overseas Indians at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale Long Island. Organized by the Indo American Community of USA, the event was a celebration of India and US culture. American returns stolen Indian treasures

On his trip, PM Modi also announced the repatriation of 297 stolen or illegally trafficked ancient artefacts to India. It is part of a broader effort on the side of the United States, that has returned almost 600 cultural relics to India since 2016.
